Problem Report Form

When you submit your problem report, it will be entered into our database for tracking purposes. After an initial assessment by our support department, the resolution of the problem will be assigned to an appropriate engineer. Periodically we will post notices regarding bugs reported by our customers in the Known Problems section of this page, and tips or workarounds on the FAQ page.

Please be as specific as possible when describing the problem.

  1. What Product are you using?

  2. What is the version of FrontLook software? See About panel for version info.

  3. What operating system are you using to edit you web?

  4. What version of FrontPage are you using?

  5. If your having a browser specific problem, what browser are you using?

  6. Please enter a brief one-line description of the problem:

    (example: "component doesn't operate in preview mode")
  8. If the problem is reproducible, please list the steps required to cause it,
    leaving a blank line between steps:

    (note: it is much harder for us to fix non-reproducible bugs)

Known Problems

The following is a list of some known problems with our software; we are working to correct them for the next release.

bulletWhen I first install an applet component from the FrontLook menu, the broken image symbol appears?

The preview will be correct after editing the applet again.

bulletWhen I press the Preview Tab in FrontPage, I get an script error or a broken image symbol?

One of the later FrontPage service packs has introduced an applet preview problem as per the Microsoft Tech Note:

Basically it says you have to use the "File->Preview in Browser" to view applets.

Also the JavaScript engine is not as capable as the Netscape or Internet Explorer scripting engines and therefore the Component Effects product does not operate properly. Please use the "File->Preview in Browser".
